Why HCPC &
Chartered Status Matter:
The ProPlusPhysio
Standard for PAIN RELIEF

When you choose a physiotherapist, you aren’t just booking an appointment; you are trusting someone with your physical health, mobility, and recovery. At ProPlusPhysio, we believe that trust should be earned through transparency and rigorous professional standards.

The titles HCPC Registered and Chartered Physiotherapist are more than just labels—they are your guarantee of quality and safety.

What is the HCPC?

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is the statutory regulator for physiotherapists in the UK. Its primary role is to protect the public. By law, a physiotherapist must be on the HCPC register to practice and use the protected professional title.

  • Legal Protection: If someone is not on this register, they cannot legally call themselves a “Physiotherapist” or “Physical Therapist.”

  • Vetting: The HCPC ensures that every professional has the correct training, qualifications, and character to treat patients safely.

  • Accountability: They set the “Standards of Proficiency” and have the power to investigate and take action if a professional’s conduct or competence falls below the required level.

What is Chartered Status?

While HCPC registration is a legal requirement, Chartered status (membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy – CSP) represents a commitment to the highest levels of professional excellence. At ProPlusPhysio, our team upholds these “gold standard” values:

  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying at the forefront of medical research and modern techniques.

  • Ethical Integrity: Adhering to a strict code of conduct that prioritizes patient dignity, compassion, and social responsibility.

  • Technical & Emotional Intelligence: Research shows that the best outcomes happen when technical expertise is combined with strong communication—qualities central to the Chartered framework.
